You’re Invited: Reception Supporting Martha Washington’s Quilts

The Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association and The Founders, Washington Committee for Historic Mount Vernon, cordially invite you to attend a reception in support of “Martha Washington’s Quilts: Conservation and Exhibition.” This event takes place on Sunday, June 1 at 6:30 p.m.

For recognition as a Host Committee member, please be sure to respond by end of day today.

The reception will be held on the east lawn featuring music, cocktails, and a dinner buffet overlooking the Potomac River. Martha Washington personally took the lead in creating these three precious quilts. Their bold use of color and pattern are a powerful expression of her creative vision and the precise stitching attests to her skill as a needlewoman. Proceeds from the event will go directly to supporting their conservation.

We invite you to visit the Museum during the festivities, where the Neoclassical Swag quilt will be on display. Transportation will be available between the event and the Museum to view this extraordinary work of art that your generous support has helped preserve.
