What does 17 years of Impact Look Like?

Dear Peter,
I’m proud of Stand for Children Arizona’s impact over the last 17 years. And I’m incredibly proud of our 2026 scholarship recipients. But I really need your help supporting both. Stand AZ recently held our annual fundraiser, and we fell a little short of our goal. Will you help us? Donate Now
Your gift will help us continue our strong track record:
- Over 2,500 parents trained in early literacy, impacting over 6,000 young kids in the 12 years since launching our Growing Readers Program – which is aligned with ReadOn Arizona and our state’s literacy goals.
- Over 90,000 books provided to kids and families.
- $45 million secured for childcare subsidies last year, with our partners at the Arizona Early Childhood Alliance.
- Over 80,000 kids a year benefited by changes in the ELL law and framework.
- Over 1 million kids a year benefited by passing Prop 208 at the ballot box, which ultimately led to $1.3 billion per year added to the state’s education budget.
- About 110,000 families have saved almost $40 million by removing punitive administrative fees for children caught up in the juvenile justice system.
- Over 35,000 9th graders supported through securing almost $5.5 million over the last three years for 9th Grade On-Track program grants. Across Arizona, that’s led to a rise in the on-track rate to 87% at the end of the first semester this year. And that translates into real graduation rates – about 7,000 more students have graduated thanks to these grants.
We do all this funded solely by private grants and donations. We do not accept any state or local government funding.
So will you help me add one more success to this list – meeting our fundraising goal!?!
Hoping you’ll stand with me,
Rebecca Gau
