The massive wastewater spill in the Potomac River is escalating a feud between President Trump and Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) as Moore is increasingly seen as a potential 2028 presidential contender. 

Trump has laid blame on Moore, Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D), and Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser for the spill, which continues to impact the greater Washington metro region. Moore, in turn, accused Trump of lying.
