Putting Americans First Means Protecting American Families
President Trump and the Republican majority have restored the rule of law at our southern border and are once again enforcing our nation’s immigration laws. Instead of releasing dangerous criminal illegal aliens back into our communities, this administration is removing those who have no legal right to remain in the United States and putting the safety of American families first.
The contrast with Democrat leadership could not be more striking. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz recently pardoned an illegal alien from Laos who had been convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl. Court records reveal the predator abused his victim over a period of years, attempted to pay her to remain silent, and even tried to justify his actions by claiming it was “a cultural thing.” His conviction resulted in a final order of removal nearly two decades ago, yet Governor Walz chose to erase the convictions that made him deportable.
Fortunately, President Trump and his administration refused to let that disgraceful decision stand. This week, ICE removed the convicted child predator from the United States, proving that this administration is serious about enforcing our laws and protecting innocent Americans. The choice is clear: Republicans are standing with law enforcement, securing our border, and putting the American people first, while Democrats continue to shield criminal illegal aliens at the expense of public safety. I will continue working alongside President Trump to support our brave ICE officers, secure our border, and ensure our immigration laws are enforced as Congress intended.

Supreme Court Delivers Important Victories—and One Disappointing Setback
The Supreme Court issued several landmark rulings over the past few weeks that will have lasting consequences for our country. Two decisions reaffirmed commonsense constitutional principles, while another was a disappointing setback in the effort to restore integrity to our immigration system.
First, the Court upheld the right of states to preserve fairness in women’s athletics by recognizing that biological males have no constitutional right to compete in women’s sports. The Court decisively struck down any effort by activist judges to classify “gender dysphoria” and “transgenderism” as characteristics deserving special legal protections.
For years, Democrats have launched a coordinated campaign to intimidate and pressure doctors, scientists, and other health professionals into accepting transgenderism. But no matter how much pressure Democrats place on the medical industry, one fact will not change: sex is biologically determined at birth.
As a doctor, I welcome the Court’s recognition that science—not political activism—should guide public policy, and I will continue fighting to keep women’s sports and private spaces reserved for women.
It is time to get men out of women’s locker rooms for good.
The Court also delivered an important victory for the Fourth Amendment by ruling that law enforcement cannot use broad “geofence” warrants to collect the cellphone location data and digital information of innocent Americans without a particularized warrant.
Our Constitution protects citizens from unreasonable searches and seizures, and the government should never be allowed to sweep up the private information of countless law-abiding people simply because they happened to be near a crime scene. Having personally experienced government surveillance abuses, I believe this ruling restores an important constitutional safeguard against government overreach.
Lastly, while President Trump secured several important victories at the Supreme Court, one decision was a major disappointment. The Court declined to allow President Trump’s effort to end the abuse of birthright citizenship by those who enter our country illegally or exploit our immigration system through birth tourism.
For decades, activists have stretched the Fourteenth Amendment far beyond its original meaning, claiming that anyone born on American soil automatically becomes a U.S. citizen, regardless of whether their parents entered the country legally. I disagree with that interpretation. The Constitution requires that a person be “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States—a phrase that deserves far greater weight than the Court was willing to give it.
The Court’s ruling also ignores an important distinction. The 1898 Wong Kim Ark case involved the child of lawful permanent residents who had established their lives in the United States. It did not involve illegal immigration or the growing practice of foreign nationals traveling here simply to give birth so their children can obtain American citizenship and later sponsor family members for immigration benefits.
Birth tourism has become a lucrative industry, particularly for individuals from countries like Communist China who seek to exploit weaknesses in our immigration laws. That is not what the authors of the Fourteenth Amendment intended, and it is certainly not what the American people expect.
I remain committed to working with President Trump and my colleagues in Congress to close these loopholes. That is why I am not only proud to have cosponsored H.R. 569, the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2025, but I am proud to highlight efforts made by my colleagues to correct this erroneous interpretation. H.R. 9562 by Representative Ogles will modify the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) to prohibit the admission of pregnant aliens into the United States; and several bills have been put forward that would financially penalize agencies or jurisdictions providing birth certificates to illegal aliens.
When liberty itself is under direct attack, it is our duty to explore every legal pathway and ensure that America can continue to thrive.

Invest in Your Child’s Future with a Trump Account
Republicans continue delivering on our promise to strengthen American families and expand economic opportunity. Thanks to President Trump’s leadership and the passage of the Working Families Tax Cuts, beginning this week families can now begin investing in their children’s future through the new Trump Accounts program.
Trump Accounts allow parents to build long-term savings for their children while receiving valuable tax benefits. Parents may contribute up to $5,000 each year, and employers can also help families save by making tax-advantaged contributions. The program gives hardworking families another tool to prepare for college, purchase a first home, start a business, or meet other important milestones as their children enter adulthood.
Even better, every eligible child born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028, will receive a $1,000 starter contribution from the federal government to help jump-start their financial future. The accounts are available to all eligible American children under the age of 18 with a valid Social Security number.
For too long, Washington has made it harder for working families to get ahead. President Trump is changing that by putting more money back into the pockets of American parents and encouraging families to invest in the next generation. I encourage every eligible family to learn more about Trump Accounts and take advantage of this opportunity to help secure a brighter financial future for their children.

Defender of Economic Freedom Award
This week, I was honored to receive the Club for Growth’s “Defender of Economic Freedom” award for the 8thtime. The Club for Growth’s award is based on publicly available voting data; with each Representative winning based on their commitment to limited government, economic growth, and free enterprise.
Throughout my time in the House, I have cast my votes for hundreds of bills with one simple goal in mind: to ensure that hard-working Americans can enjoy the fruits of their labor with minimal government overreach. For too long, Americans have been forced to navigate the complicated and expensive gambit of government bureaucracy just to earn a living. And each year, Congress adds onto this burden when it passes new laws.
While I do not vote with awards and accolades in mind, I deeply appreciate every award that I receive. It can be discouraging to see the unrelenting tide of government expansion, slowly washing away our country’s most cherished freedoms. But with groups such as the Club for Growth ranking elected officials, voters can make intelligent decisions about what candidates will improve their personal freedoms and economic well-being.

District Spotlight!
One of the best parts of serving Arizona’s Ninth Congressional District is returning home during district work periods to meet with constituents, visit local businesses, and see firsthand the incredible work being done across our communities. While I had the opportunity to make many productive visits this week, one of the highlights was touring the Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City.
I was grateful to meet with the hospital’s leadership, physicians, nurses, and dedicated staff to learn more about the exceptional care they provide to patients throughout western Arizona. Their commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare, investing in new technology, and serving the growing needs of our communities is truly commendable.
I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone at the Havasu Regional Medical Center for the warm welcome and for taking the time to discuss both the successes and challenges facing healthcare providers today. I appreciate all that you do every day to keep our communities healthy, and I look forward to continuing to work together to ensure Arizona families have access to outstanding medical care.
