Billy Graham

Billy Graham (1918–2018) – One of the most influential Christian evangelists of the 20th century, Billy Graham preached the gospel to over 200 million people across the globe. He served as spiritual advisor to every U.S. president from Harry Truman to George W. Bush, offering guidance rooted in faith, humility, and moral clarity. Graham emphasized the importance of personal responsibility, forgiveness, and national revival through faith. His Crusades brought together people of all races and backgrounds. In times of national crisis, Graham often spoke words of comfort and unity, earning him the nickname “America’s Pastor.”

In 1953, Graham insisted on integrating his crusades, physically removing the ropes that separated Black and white attendees in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He declared that Christian faith could not exist alongside racism and never again held a segregated event. His bold move alienated some supporters but set a precedent for racial inclusion in evangelical gatherings.
