Now that the legislature has wrapped up committee hearings, our attention turns to the budget. We have a couple of requests for this year. One of the most pressing is childcare. 

Legislators, Prioritize Childcare Affordability

Last time we looked, the childcare waitlist had more than 11,500 kids waiting for access to childcare subsidies. While they are waiting, their parents are left with the tough decisions between working and paying for childcare. That’s a disaster for our state’s economy. 

We need our legislators to prioritize childcare affordability in the budget this year. If we secure $160 million in funding, it will completely eliminate the childcare waitlist. Please take action today to ask your legislators to support childcare subsidies and help parents work!
