From France to the West Coast: This Weekend’s Tastings…
Hello Peter,
As summer winds down, we’re keeping the tasting calendar busy! Friday night, Joe will be pouring a lineup of French wines alongside a couple of Virginia craft beers, while Saturday’s tasting with Kyle features West Coast Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Rosé, Pinot Noir, and a rich red blend. As always, everything featured on our tasting tables is 10% off all weekend, both in-store and online.
And there’s plenty more coming up at The Wine Cabinet! From hands-on workshops and special tastings to our upcoming Lesser Known Grapes of Italy Importer Series on October 18, there are lots of opportunities to discover something new. This special class with Brennan Downey of Michael Downey Imports will explore eight fascinating Italian wines made from lesser-known grape varieties, paired with small bites. If you enjoy finding wines that are a little off the beaten path, this is one you won’t want to miss—and seating is limited!

K Vintners Art Den Hoed’s Vineyard Viognier 2023 (94 pts, Jeb Dunnuck) – “With a kiss of reduction in its white peach, honeyed flowers, and subtle tangerine notes, the 2023 Viognier Art Den Hoed hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a round, lush mouthfeel, and a clean, light, graceful, incredibly drinkable style. It’s a beautiful, incredibly classy Viognier that I’d happily put side by side with anything from the Northern Rhône.” BUY NOW
Belle Glos Oeil de Perdrix Rosé 2023 (94 pts, James Suckling) – “Referring to the “eye of the peacock,” Oeil de Perdix has the exotic hue of a desert sunset. Sensuous and mouth-filling, with rapturous raspberry and a melting wave of cinnamon cream, this wine goes deep, touched by red tea, white pepper, and rosemary. Finely tuned acidity and white chocolate add to its vivacious mouthfeel.” BUY NOW
