| Crime Man Charged with Second-Degree Murder for Fentanyl Overdose DeathJanuary 24, 2026The Putnam County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against T. Stamps, 52, for the sale and delivery of a Schedule II Controlled Substance resulting in the death of A. Richardson. The charge is punishable as second-degree murder in Tennessee. The investigation began on March 16, 2025, when Cookeville police officers responded to a home and found Richardson dead, with the autopsy revealing the cause of death to be acute fentanyl toxicity. Detectives examined the cellphones of Richardson and Stamps, which revealed communication indicating the delivery of illicit substances to the victim by Stamps shortly before his death.
