Consider this story of two hypothetical investors, based on documented data and historical facts …

John is a crypto investor who uses a major exchange like Coinbase or Kraken.

Mary buys cryptos in a different way. She uses our early bird, backdoor buying method.

It kind of reminds me of buying a stock like Facebook before its IPO when investors could have picked it up for a tiny fraction of what other investors later paid.

55x Instead of 9x

For example, consider a relatively popular crypto called Synthetix, symbol SNX, and look at the huge difference this can make.

When John logs onto his account at a major U.S.-based crypto exchange, he doesn’t find Synthetix. It’s not listed yet, and it only shows up months later. That’s when he buys it, paying $2.82 per coin.

Within half a year, Synthetix goes up to $26.50, and John makes more than nine times his money. That’s darn good.

But Mary doesn’t wait for Synthetix to be listed on a major exchange.

Instead, she uses our early bird buying method, giving her the chance to buy it for much less.

Rather than paying $2.82, she pays only 48 cents. That’s an 82% discount off what John gets it for later.

And it’s a lot better than any Black Friday or Cyber Monday bargain she could possibly dream of.

Result: Instead of multiplying her money by “merely” nine times, she multiples her money by over 55 times.

Or, consider this second trade, yearn.finance (YFI) …

1,250x Instead of 10x

John buys yearn.finance on the first day it’s listed on a major exchange. By then, it’s already very pricey, at $4,106 per coin.

But 33 days later, he sees it surge to $43,338 — a gain of 955%. Not bad for one month’s work.

Mary does not wait for yearn.finance to be listed. She gets in with our early bird buying method and pays just $35. That’s 99% less than what John paid.

“With this kind of deal,” she says, “I don’t want to see Cyber Monday madness ever again in my whole life.”

Instead of a 955% gain, she sees a gain of 125,336%. In other words, not just 10 times her money like John, but 1,250 times her money.

If they each invest $1,000, John makes $10,550, while Mary makes $1,254,000.

Big difference.

258x Instead of 2x

Or look at the new undiscovered crypto, Kaspa, and go back to May 6, 2023. That’s the day Kaspa was first listed on a major exchange.

On that day, John buys Kaspa and watches it nearly double. Good.

But one year earlier, on May 25, 2022, to be exact, Mary uses our early bird buying method and buys it for 97% less.

Instead of doubling her money, she makes 258 times her money.

That’s just three historic examples:

We’re almost through what’s really been an awesome trading week. Stock futures are up again on U.S. payroll numbers that topped expectations.

Maybe the Trump economy isn’t as weak as people think?

Already the S&P 500 was up 9% over the last 8 trading days, marking its biggest gain since November 2020.

That’s a great gain and all, but have you caught my “tactical trade” ideas this week?

One of my ideas from Monday hit an intraday high of 19%. Another idea that day had a solid gain that day and is now up 12.5%.

Wednesday’s idea jumped 12% intraday, but it was yesterday’s idea — HUB Cyber Security (HUBC) — that I really hoped would be the “grand slam” to bring those base hits home.

I wrote to you late yesterday afternoon — when the stock was up 15%on the day — noting that the company had released a promising earnings report that I thought “could well push things higher as we round out the week.”

I said the stock was clearly in “breakout mode” and urged you to “KeepHUBC at the top of your radar so you don’t miss a moment of the action!”

I hope you listened, because look at this work of art.

I should frame it and put it on my wall!

All told, the stock rocketed 37% from yesterday’s open (so far) to its peak in the pre-market this morning.

I’d say we can definitely call that the “grand slam” I was hoping for.

The price action on HUBC should be very interesting today, so stay locked in and focus on where it goes from here.

And of course, be on the lookout for my next “tactical trade” idea early next week.

The Power Gauge Finds Opportunities in the Darkest Market Corners

Folks, we all know the market has suffered a brutal year so far…

Even with the recent bounce, the S&P 500 Index is still down roughly 5% this year. And the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 Index is down about 6%.

But looking at the largest stocks only gives us a partial picture. After all, thousands of equities trade on U.S. exchanges every day.

And if you think the broad market has been bad… it’s even worse for smaller companies.

In the Power Gauge, we use the iShares Russell 2000 Fund (IWM) to measure small-cap stocks. And again, even with the recent market bounce, that index is still down about 11% this year.

It’s a crushing loss. And it shows just how fragile these kinds of stocks can be.

We’re also seeing big pain with midcap stocks. The SPDR S&P MidCap 400 Fund (MDY) is down roughly 8% so far this year.

And it makes sense when you think about it…

These companies are particularly sensitive to tariffs, economic uncertainty, and the kind of volatility that we’ve seen in the market lately.

They also suffer from not having the “safe haven” status that some of the larger companies do. Everyone knows that a consumer-products juggernaut like Procter & Gamble (PG) isn’t going out of business anytime soon.

But what about a midcap company you barely know the name of… one that’s dependent on imported steel, aluminum, or electronics from China? When things get rough, investors flee these companies.

But even in challenging times like these, the Power Gauge still spots opportunities in some of the overlooked areas…

Even Rough Markets Still Have Promising Individual Stocks

Many of these smaller stocks are ones that the Wall Street “big shots” wish they could load up on, but often can’t.

I’m talking about the stocks that drive America’s economy. And they have some of the biggest opportunities for growth that you can find.

Now, you might think that the Power Gauge would be warning investors to run away from this segment of the market. And it’s true that the two indexes I outlined above are looking particularly rough…

Right now in our system, IWM earns a “neutral” rating. And the vast majority of the stocks in this fund are either in “bearish” or “neutral” territory.

But there are still a lot of opportunities…

Specifically, 262 stocks in this fund earn a “bullish” or “very bullish” rating.

And we see something similar with MDY…

When it comes to midcaps, just 46 stocks in MDY earn a “bullish” or “very bullish” grade. That’s about 11% of the fund’s rated stocks.

Again, it shows that not all midcaps look bad right now. And as any investor knows, it doesn’t take 46 names to beat the broad market.

I know things have been bleak out there recently. But put simply, even in the darkest of markets, opportunities still exist. And here at Chaikin Analytics, we’re using the Power Gauge to help us identify them.
