Good morning, Arizona. Here’s what our reporters are working on and what you should know about what’s happening across the state before you start your day.

Metro Phoenix health inspectors visited about 1,420 restaurants and other food-serving facilities in hospitals, senior homes and schools. Nearly 400 restaurants received an “A” rating. Others, not so much.

Three metro Phoenix restaurants were cited for 13 health violationsduring the week of June 2.

Here are just some of the historic events on this date in the past.

•	On this day in 1928: American aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean as a passenger. Earhart later became the first woman – and the second person – to pilot an aircraft nonstop and solo across the Atlantic in 1932.
•	In 1973: Fredrak Fraske, a German immigrant who was widely regarded to be the last living U.S. military veteran of the American Indian Wars, died at age 101 in Chicago.
•	In 1981: The U.S. Air Force made the maiden flight of the F-117 Nighthawk, the world’s first operational stealth aircraft, designed to evade radar. The Air Force first used the Lockheed-made fighter jet for combat in Panama eight years later, and the aircraft were widely successful in missions during the Gulf War of 1990-91.
•	In 1983: NASA astronaut Sally Ride became the first American woman in space for a six-day mission that included her and four Space Shuttle Challenger STS-7 crewmates deploying two satellites and performing multiple science experiments.
•	In 2006: The Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori became the first female bishop to lead the U.S. Episcopal Church.
•	In 2020: The World Health Organization halted its trial of hydroxychloroquine after a large, randomized study conducted in the United Kingdom found the drug lacked any apparent effect on mortality when treating COVID-19.
