CROWN Act Updates
Dear CROWN Act Supporter,
We have exciting news to share as we continue to work to Create a Respectful and Open World for Natural hair. The CROWN Act movement has been center stage in multiple spaces and places recently, including:
Red Table Talk
Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell and Chastity Jones, a victim of hair discrimination, joined Jada Pinkett-Smith, her daughter Willow, and her mother Gammy on their latest Red Table Talk Extra spotlighting race-based hair discrimination and the CROWN Act. You can watch and share the exclusive Red Table Talk segment here
Good Morning America
Good Morning America featured the heartbreaking story of 7-year-old Jurnee, after a student and teacher cut her hair without permission at school. During the segment, Jurnee’s father shared the traumatic impact experienced by his daughter spotlighting the importance of the CROWN Act and how legislation will protect children nationwide.
