We are living in one of the most consequential moments in modern history. If you are a woman, Black, Hispanic, Asian or not wealthy, your voting rights are being threatened along with democracy itself. It’s time to go bigger and broader!
The Center for Common Ground has been a driving force in mobilizing Black voters in Southern states, and we’re proud to announce a new partnership that will amplify our efforts to protect democracy.
We are partnering with the Tim Carpenter Institute, named after one of my mentors. The Tim Carpenter Institute studies the distribution of economic and political power in society and strategies for building more equitable and democratic societies. It is committed to making all of its findings available and understandable to the broad public.
Their Voters Calendar/Democracy Defenders project is designed to alert the American public to changes in voting rules and regulations and disseminate studies from America and around the world about ways to strengthen democracy in the 21st Century.
Together, we will expand our outreach from primarily the Southeast to the Midwest and beyond.
As you know, the right wing is relentless in its attempts to suppress the vote, particularly in communities of color and working-class areas. But we’re not backing down! With your support, we’ve mobilized tens of thousands of voters, challenging unjust laws in the South. Now, the Tim Carpenter Institute will allow us to broaden our reach, amplifying our impact like never before.
Join us for an unforgettable evening filled with inspiring speakers and shared victories. This event will celebrate past successes and the promising future made possible by your commitment.
Come for the whole time or just a while. Either way, we can guarantee a fun event full of inspiring speakers. Your support at our Virtual Fundraising Gala will help us build a stronger, more united South – and, ultimately, a better America for all.
