Your Night Prayer
Today’s Night Prayer is brought to you by Catholic CoffeeA Night PrayerJesus Christ, my God, I adore You and thank You for all the graces You have given me this day. I offer You my sleep and all the moments of this night. I place myself and all my loved ones, wherever they may be, in Your sacred side and under the mantle of Our Blessed Mother. Let Your holy angels stand watch and keep us in peace. Amen.Quote of the Day“He pours light into our minds, arouses our desire and gives us strength… As the soul is the life of the body, so the Holy Spirit, is the life of our souls.” -St. Peter Damian Today’s Meditation”There is one final event in the life of Catherine that involves this ‘Christ-Catherine’ Heart. She is so convinced that she no longer possesses her own natural heart after the mystical exchannge of hearts with Jesus that she does not call it ‘my’ heart, but ‘the’ heart. The letter to Raymond in which she describes this climatic experience appears to have been written from Rome on February 16, 1380, just a little over two months before her death. At this time she was able to rise from her sickbed only with great difficulty. She was in deep and anguished prayer for the Bride of Christ, which was wounded and torn by the Western Schism. The fire of desire was burning within her and she cried out to the eternal Father, “What can I do, Oh ineffable Fire?” He responded, “Offer your life anew, and give yourself no rest. I have apppointed your for this work, and do so again; you and all those who follow you, or will follow you.” —Mary Jeremiah O.P.An excerpt from The Secret of the Heart: St. Catherine of Siena on the Heart of JesusRecommended ProductsSt. Therese of Lisieux Light Roast Coffee – 12 oz. It’s very simple, and it’s designed to help us identify our sins and weaknesses so that we can improve and grow stronger in the spiritual life, while providing an excellent ongoing preparation for regular Confession. It consists of taking a few minutes at the end of the day to prayerfully review our actions in the light of God’s commandments, followed by the Act of Contrition. |
