Access to Care Grant Cycle is open September 1 – September 30!
About Petco Love’s Access to Care Grant Cycle:
Funding in this grant category is designated to increase access to veterinary care for family pets and community cats, reduce economic euthanasia and the surrender of pets to shelters when families are unable to afford needed treatment.
Organizations that should apply in this grant category are:
Spay and neuter providers
Full service low-cost veterinary care providers
Community cat / TNR organizations
Organizations that provide financial aid for family pets
You can apply for the Access to Care Grant Cycle in the Partner Portal from September 1 – September 30, 2025.
NEW FOR 2025 – Access to Care Data Report
Access to Care organization types will now be required to submit an annual data report, due September 30. This report is separate from your Access to Care grant application and will be utilized in our evaluation alongside your grant request. More information to come soon, including instructions on where in the Partner Portal this report will be located.
Please note, spay and neuter providers and community cat / TNR organizations that previously completed the AWO Annual Data Report will now submit the Access to Care data report, even if you are an adoption partner.
Animal shelters and rescues may NOT apply during this cycle. Please wait and apply in the Animal Welfare Organization cycle open from February 1 – March 31, 2026.
Halifax Humane Society is showing what it means to do Petco Love Lost right. From sandwich board signs at every entrance, to featuring the tool in their community newsletters and media, and even printing it on their business cards, they’ve made lost pet awareness a true community priority.
Most recently, they launched their proactive “Before the Storm” campaign, encouraging pet owners to pre-register their pets ahead of hurricane season—ensuring faster reunions when disaster strikes. Their vision is simple but powerful: no lost pet spends a night in a shelter because their family has already been found.
Want to be featured in our next Petco Love Lost Partner Spotlight? We’d love to highlight the amazing work you’re doing! Click here to complete a quick form and we will be in touch.
A variety of disaster-focused social media assets are currently available in the shelter dashboard to help support your community during times of crisis.
These include Petco Love Lost registration graphics for use ahead of a disaster, assets for you and your community to share if a pet is lost or found in the aftermath, and graphics for shelter closures that direct the public to Petco Love Lost.
We encourage you to explore and use these resources as part of your emergency preparedness and response efforts.
The Love Stories are rolling in—and they’re AMAZING. We’re laughing, crying (happy tears!), and feeling so inspired by the incredible matches you’ve made possible.
Keep using your toolkit materials to rally your adopters before submissions close on September 29. You don’t want to miss a chance to earn a grant of up to $100,000!
Know a social-savvy adopter? Encourage them to create a social media submission—more eyes means more adoptions and more stories!
Thank you for all the great work you do to save pet lives. We are thankful for your commitment to the pets in your care.
As a Petco Love partner, we’re excited to help make every pet adoption a forever one and set new pet parents up for success with the updated 2025 Adoption Support Benefit flyer (ASB).
This 2025 ASB flyer ensures you can continue providing exclusive benefits to your new adopters! The ASB, which can be printed or shared digitally and redeemed online or in stores, provides new adopters a discount on purchases (thanks to our sponsor Petco), encourages them to register their new pet with Petco Love Lost in case they go missing, and more.
Start distributing your organization’s updated ASB, available for download below. Let’s help new pet parents take great care of their new pets and live their best lives together!

When Kaylee met Mamba, she learned of her rocky start. Rescued by Massachusetts’ Better Together Dog Rescue after a snake bite, Kaylee was determined to give her a soft place to land. ❤️🩹
As Mamba’s playful personality emerged, Kaylee realized she’d be the perfect foster sibling for another dog in need. “She became his security blanket. Almost as if she was saying ‘hey little buddy, you’re safe now—just be a dog with me.’ And then she’d quite literally show him how to be a dog,” recalls Kaylee.
Mamba’s guidance led to tail wags and playful energy from her foster. “Whoever adopts [this new foster] may never know about the dog behind the dog. So I thank Mamba every day, because I’m not sure I could do this fostering journey without her.”
Mamba is currently being featured as the BOBS®️ Bestie of the Month on our Instagram page. Follow us on Instagram to learn more about Mamba, our partnership with BOBS®️ from Skechers®️, and more! 💜👟🎉
