Thanks to generous donations from ASU alumni, the Devil’s Horns ASU Alumni Club is proud to present fall scholarships to Sun Devil Marching Band members enrolled for fall 2022. We are pleased to announce this year’s recipients, Piper Corona, Giselle Coll and Ashley Hall.
Piper Corona
Degree Program: “Hello! I’m Piper and I’m so thankful to be accepted for this scholarship. I am a Medical Studies major at the downtown Phoenix campus. But I live on the Tempe campus for the Sun Devil Marching Band. This scholarship will help me in my studies and paying for part of my books that I need for my classes. I couldn’t be happier that I was chosen for this scholarship. Thank you so much for the opportunity!”
Why I chose ASU: “I chose to attend ASU because of the marching band, actually. I found out that Brandy DuBose, who taught me in Drum Corps International (DCI) also taught the Sun Devil Marching Band (SDMB). I wanted to stay in color guard and stay close to my home in Las Vegas, so I knew ASU would be a perfect college to attend. I researched the medical program at ASU and knew that I would have a great time getting my degree and doing marching band. I’m looking forward to being in leadership this year with the SDMB and to be able to do marching band again. I had such a fun experience last year so I’m very excited to do it all over again for the next two years.”
Academic Plans and Future Goals: “My goals for after I graduate are to go to pharmacy school and get my Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD). I want to be a pharmacist in the future at a hospital or a special facility. And I would like to graduate from ASU with a 3.5 GPA in the spring of 2024.”
The club wouldn’t be able to award these scholarships if it weren’t for the generous donations from alumni like you. Consider giving today to continue growing the scholarship and helping the club to award more student scholars.
Degree Program: “My name is Giselle Coll. I am a junior in the College of Health Solutions on the Downtown campus. I am majoring in Medical Studies and working on a minor in business and a certificate for Healthcare Policy and Delivery. This scholarship gives me the support I need to continue pursuing my career while participating in the Sun Devil Marching band. ”
Why I chose ASU: “I chose to attend ASU because of the amazing opportunities offered in the College of Health Solutions, and because the campus is so close to home. I am looking forward most to finishing off my degree and continue spending time with my Sun Devil family!”
Academic Plans and Future Goals: “I plan to attend dental school and further specialize in oral and maxillofacial surgery, and hope to one day run my own practice where I can help those in need to achieve better health!.”

Degree Program: “My name is Ashley Hall. I’m a civil engineering major on the Tempe campus. I’m very involved in the music programs at our school, including the Sun Devil Marching Band. Receiving the Devil’s Horns scholarship allows me to afford the necessary materials to continue participating in the marching band.”
Why I chose ASU: “One of the major reasons I chose ASU was for the culture of the marching band. I fell in love with the way the band accepts anyone at ASU or in the community, and raises them up to be the best performers they can be. I’m so excited to spend another year marching with hundreds of my best friends.”
Academic Plans and Future Goals: “While at ASU, I intend to pursue a 4+1 program and earn a bachelors and masters degrees in civil engineering. Upon completing my education, I hope to go into construction management.”
