“Our branch of service does not provide us with adequate equipment for our mission set and most of what we get is worn down already when it’s issued, specifically helmets.”
Season Greetings,
With 2 millions Americans serving, we have a lot of heroes who will not be home this December…empty chairs at the holiday dinner tables nationwide.
We know the ‘why’ but the unpublicized ‘wheres’ are what keep me up at night:
Central America to counter China, Russia and terrorist factions
Africa which serves as the incubator for terrorism
Our Southern Border where Terror Watchlist individuals are caught
The South China Seas where China is setting the stage for 2025
Iraq & Syria where we have been attacked 90 times by Iranian factions since October.
The other locations that I cannot speak about…
As you know, they are not reaching out to Troops Direct for candy canes and miniature stockings. Their wish list items?
Helmets
Field blood transfusion equipment
IED diffusal gear
Uniforms to replace their battle torn sets
Cold weather sleep and shelter systems
I could go on and on…
We owe it to them to make sure their tree is full.
“I am the Team Leader of a Special Operations Unit that has been tasked with combat operations missions in the INDOPACOM AOR (Southeast Asia, Korea, Taiwan). We are expected to shoot, move and communicate as part of a cross functional team. Unfortunately my team and I are under-equipped. We have already spent a considerable amount of our own money to better equip ourselves and have run into a wall when trying to get ballistic helmets.”
