Speaking of talented students, a former Casa Grande resident will receive their high school diploma soon. Johnny Bottrell, a special needs student, will graduate from Sierra Academy in Scottsdale. Bottrell has cerebral palsy as well as Williams syndrome, a developmental disorder commonly associated with intellectual disability, heart problems and other issues. By the time Virginia Ross appeared before Pinal County’s supervisors one last time, she had already sold her house. The elections director just needed the supervisors to vote “yes” on Nov. 21, finalizing the November election, and she would be on her way to retirement.
