2023 has been a challenging year. From the Israel-Gaza crisis that erupted in October, to the ongoing war in Ukraine, to the devastating earthquakes that struck Türkiye and Syria earlier this year, Americares has responded quickly and effectively, delivering urgent aid to those who need it most.
And we will not stop. We’re tirelessly working to meet critical medical needs and save lives in regions impacted by war, poverty, disaster and other crises. Partnering with local organizations, we stay as long as we’re needed. But given the scale of the emergencies to which we’re responding, more aid is desperately needed.
At the end of November, an Americares shipment with essential medicines and medical supplies to treat 100,000 people for three months arrived in Gaza. Over nearly two years, we’ve provided the people of Ukraine and its surrounding regions with over $117 million in aid. In June, we funded the opening of a fully staffed health clinic in northern Syria to increase access to health care for earthquake survivors and displaced individuals.
Generous supporters like you have made all this possible, and your monthly gift will help us continue our lifesaving response to these health emergencies and dozens more around the world.
