If you are a current member of SAA you will (or already have) receive a mailed Viking News. if you have opted to receive a “snail mail“ copy. You might discover that the full-color Viking News that you’re about to open is enough and you no longer need the printed mailed edition. If so, you’re being friendlier to the environment and saving your association mailing costs. If you have not opted out of the “snail mail“ edition you can easily do so by emailing samohialumni@gmail.com

We believe that this is one of the finest high school Alumni publications in the United States. Special thanks to our editor, Lawson Desrochers, and our publisher at Dynamic Graphic, Nancy Slanchik. We need you and your fellow alums to be members of the Samohi Alumni Association so we can continue to produce this newspaper. Membership information is below. Note that all yearly memberships expire on December 31st of each year.

Renewal options include $25 one-year, $100 five-year, and even $1000 lifetime memberships. If you’re not sure if your membership expires on 12/31/22 please email samohialumni@gmail.com and we’ll be happy to look up that information for you. You can also make a year-end tax-deductible donation. Your donation can be designated to our scholarship program or special campus programs for athletics, the arts, or physical plant refurbishment.

Your membership supports our activities to keep alumni connected to each other, the school, the current students, and the larger Santa Monica community.

Included in your membership is the online version of the quarterly Viking News.

The Viking News format takes full advantage of sponsorships and advertisements. We encourage you and your friends to call attention to your business, event, or service by placing an ad in the Viking News. Ads, from business card size to full-page color, are welcome. As the Alumni Association refines its activities and adds new activities to its mission, we invite each of you to ask your fellow Alums to join us. Invite other graduates of Santa Monica High School to join the Association as we seek to connect, inspire and assist current and future Viking alumni. We want graduates to have a deeper connection with our high school and our city.

The Alumni Association grants scholarships to college-bound students. We provide Grad Nite support, recognize prominent alumni, and co-sponsor Samohi’s annual career day. We also have an on-campus office. We provide mentors to help guide future graduates, accessing the immense knowledge of our members.

Join your Board Of Directors at our virtual Board Meeting each month. Even better, you’re invited to join us as a Board Member. Email info@samohialumni.org and we’ll be happy to talk with you.  Meetings are always located in Santa Monica and as is everyone else these days, our meetings are also on Zoom.  Our meetings are always open to all members!
