Save the Date for Cal Poly Pier Open House
Cal Poly’s Pier Open House date is set! The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15.
The Center for Coastal Marine Sciences cordially invites the public to the free event, which will include interactive displays, touch tanks full of live creatures, insights into marine environments and more.
Cal Poly students and faculty will be on hand to answer questions. The pier is located on Avila Beach Drive in Avila Beach, just west of the San Luis Creek Bridge.
Real Estate Industry Reception Highlights
More than 50 Cal Poly alumni gathered Oct. 9 at The Pacific Club in Newport Beach for a real estate industry reception hosted by Greenlaw Partners founder Wil Smith (Agricultural Business, ’95).
Attendees networked across generations and fields including real estate sales, finance and architecture.
Orfalea College of Business Dean Damon Fleming and College of Architecture and Environmental Design Dean Marc Swackhamer shared updates on Cal Poly’s cross-disciplinary Real Estate Initiative and engaged with alumni and students in the program.

Meet Victor Reyes (Crop Science, ’03)
“Cal Poly has played such an important role in my life that it drove me to come back to contribute as an alumni volunteer,” said Reyes, who is a volunteer leader for the Latinx Community.
