RJ– This is just a quick note to remind you that the expanded charitable-giving tax deduction included in the CARES Act is applicable through the end of the year.
If you are electing to take the standard deduction and aren’t itemizing your 2021 taxes, you can claim up to a $300 charitable-giving tax deduction for qualifying donations you make in 2021.
Unlike last year, it’s $300 per tax filer in 2021. So, if you are a married couple filing jointly, you and your spouse can claim up to $600 in total.
Please keep in mind, Charity Navigator does not offer tax advice. We encourage you to connect with a tax advisor to help with your unique situations.
Want to get the last of your 2021 tax-deductible donations made quickly and safely? When you donate to charities through our site’s Giving Basket, we’ll immediately send you your tax receipt upon checkout. While you are checking out, make sure you add an additional, tax-deductible gift supporting Charity Navigator when prompted.
