We have an update on the Casa Grande double homicide that took place in late April. The Casa Grande Police Department has released information about text messages between the man accused of shooting and killing a Casa Grande teen and an Eloy woman and another man who allegedly owed him money.
And two men were arrested in Maricopa after police allegedly found a stolen handgun and drugs in their vehicle. The two men also allegedly led police on a brief pursuit when they refused to pull over for officers.
In other news, motorists who drive U.S. 60 southeast of Apache Junction may soon see an improvement in traffic. The Pinal County Public Works Department has applied for a federal grant that would extend State Route 24 from Ironwood Drive to U.S. 60. The improvement may be designated a truck route by the state once the work is completed, hopefully easing congestion in the area.
A Phoenix man allegedly tried to assault a police officer while being taken into custody for failing to change address as a sex offender and failure to register as a sex offender.
