She Spent $1 Million Trying To Save Her Mother.
| Mrs. Mazal Elbaz had a gift. Every year, twenty 3-year-olds would walk through her kindergarten classroom door in Elul, shy and uncertain. By Pesach, they were confident little mensches who knew their Alef-Beis, could recite brachos, and—most impressively—actually listened. Parents would stop her in the street: “Morah Mazal, what’s your secret?” She’d smile. “I just love them like they’re my own.” When Mazal was diagnosed with stomach cancer, the family did everything humanly possible to save her. They flew to America for advanced treatments. They consulted the best doctors. They emptied their bank accounts, took loans, sold whatever they could. By the time Mazal a’’h was niftar five years ago, the family had spent close $1 million. It wasn’t enough. The family lost not only their mother, but their financial stability. They were left with crushing medical debt and eleven children trying to figure out how to move forward. Thankfully, Mazal’s daughter Feigy recently got engaged to a wonderful young man. The wedding is set for Teves—just weeks away. But here’s the heartbreaking irony: Mazal Elbaz spent decades helping other people’s children. She nurtured them, encouraged them, gave them everything they needed to succeed. Now her own daughter is getting married with nothing. No money for basic household items. No mother to guide her through this transition. Mazal Elbaz gave her whole life to klal Yisrael’s children. Now klal Yisrael has the chance to give something back to hers.CLICK HERE |
