After Trump’s DHS deployed 4,000 National Guard troops and launched ICE raids across LA, Secretary Kristi Noem held a press event to justify it.
Senator Padilla—on official business in the building—stood up and said:
“I’m Senator Alex Padilla. I have questions for the secretary.”
What happened next is horrifying:
Federal agents shoved him, forced him to the ground, handcuffed him in a hallway. All because he dared to demand answers from the Trump administration.
Peter, this is political violence—plain and simple.
And if they can violently handcuff a U.S. Senator, what will they do to immigrants, journalists, protestors—or you?
This is how authoritarian regimes behave. And the only way to stop it is with a grassroots movement strong enough to resist them.
