Rural Road Construction Update

Restrictions Continue Until End of January

Due to unforeseen circumstances with the delivery of materials, the water infrastructure construction project on Rural Road at U.S. 60 is now expected to be finished by the end of January 2024.

Rural Road will continue to be narrowed to one lane in each direction. Delays are expected on Rural Road from north of Southern Avenue to Baseline Road and beyond. Access to U.S. 60 from Rural Road will still be available, as will access to area businesses and neighborhoods.

Those visiting Tempe History Museum, Tempe Public Library, Pyle Adult Recreation Center or Edna Arts should use the Southern Avenue street entrance.

Every effort will be made to mitigate the construction impacts. Please use extra care when driving, biking and walking in the construction zones and observe all posted traffic restrictions.  We appreciate your patience as we complete this important infrastructure improvement.
