The Epstein case has dominated headlines across the country, and for good reason. Americans are demanding answers about Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes and the powerful network of individuals connected to him — a network that includes Donald Trump.
We need to end the secrecy and stonewalling and deliver justice, not just for the victims, but for a country that should refuse to let the powerful operate above the law.
I introduced the Epstein Files Transparency Act, alongside Senator Ben Ray Luján, to direct the U.S. Department of Justice to publicly release all files related to the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein and his associates. No more protecting predators.
But Senate Republicans blocked it. They didn’t just turn their backs on survivors. They sided with secrecy, privilege, and power.
For far too long, wealthy and well-connected individuals have used their influence to escape accountability and silence victims. Survivors of Epstein’s abuse deserve justice. The public deserves answers. And the powerful must no longer be shielded from the consequences of their actions.
We have a government of ‘We the People,’ not ‘We the Powerful.’ If we’re serious about restoring the public’s trust, the American people deserve the full truth about Jeffrey Epstein and everyone connected to him.
Onward,
Jeff
