[QUIZ] Scientists say we’re losing HOW many species to…

[QUIZ] How many species could go extinct by 2050? 10,000 100,000 1,000,000
Dear Peter,
Since the U.S. passed the Endangered Species Act in 1973, we’ve celebrated the return of bald eagles, gray wolves, manatees, and countless other species that we almost lost forever.
But as our climate keeps warming and we lose critical ecosystems to human-caused habitat destruction, experts believe we’re now entering the next mass extinction.
And under the Trump administration, this wildlife extinction crisis could worsen rapidly. Trump’s anti-environment agenda threatens to exacerbate the climate crisis, expand oil drilling and industrialization of our wildlands, roll back protections for endangered species, and more.
Think you know endangered species? Test your knowledge:[QUIZ] How many species could go extinct by 2050? 10,000 100,000 1,000,000
The twin threats of climate change and extinction are inextricably linked.
For example, keystone species like gray wolves keep elk and deer populations in check, which allows forests to grow mature trees. And these healthier forests act as carbon sinks, pulling climate-wrecking carbon pollution out of the atmosphere and safely locking it away. In this way, stable gray wolf populations can help mitigate climate change.
That’s why we’re fighting back, in and out of court, against the worst aspects of Trump’s anti-wildlife agenda, just like we did in his first term. And that’s why we’re working to preserve our wildlands and waters. Not just because they serve as vital habitat for endangered species, but also because these ecosystems play such a crucial role in our fight against climate change.
As we continue fighting for wildlife under the Trump administration and conserve vital ecosystems for the benefit of all life on Earth, we’re grateful to have you by our side.
Don’t forget to take the quiz above, and then consider sharing this newfound knowledge with someone close to you. It’s an easy way to spark curiosity about our natural world — and foster appreciation for how to save it.
Sincerely,
