Pigeon cull postponed after thousands took action!
MAR 14READ IN APP
I am so pleased to say that thanks to over 7,000 of you signing yesterday’s urgent petition, and the pressure applied by pigeon advocacy groups, the planned pigeon cull at The Academy development in Woolwich, South East London has now been postponed.
The management company, Rendall and Rittner, have said they will be “reviewing an alternative solution.” Our petition has now been amended to call for the cull to be cancelled permanently, and you can still add your nameto support that.
To every single person who signed the petition, you have genuinely helped save lives. Without public attention, this could easily have gone ahead quietly before sunrise. Instead, thousands of people spoke up and forced the issue into the open.
It’s a powerful reminder that when people act together, things really can change. I am incredibly proud of the community we are building here. Please keep signing and sharing these petitions, because this is proof that when people speak up for animals it can deliver real results.
A huge thanks to the wonderful Greenwich Wildlife Network for altering us to the cull.
