When Heather talks about her two-year-old, Alfie, she often refers to him as her little miracle baby.
Just after she gave birth, doctors told Heather her newborn had been diagnosed with life-threatening sepsis. And at only 2 months old, little Alfie was transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Children’s National. Although she was confident in Alfie’s expert care team, Heather was scared about what might happen.
But YOU gave Alfie a chance to thrive and brought his family comfort when they needed it most.
Children like Alfie deserve our best. Thank you for sharing our commitment to improving the health and well-being of our patients today and generations to come.
With gratitude,
DeAnn Marshall, M.H.A.
