One of the things we know for sure at Inseparable Action is that mental health care is a bipartisan issue. People care about mental health and love someone who deals with mental health challenges, no matter where they fall on the political spectrum.
This week, we are happy to spotlight two mental health champions working across the aisle to make sure that more people can get the mental health treatment they need.
In Michigan, as everywhere, too many people donβt get the mental health care they need, even when their health plans are supposed to cover those services. Rep. Mike McFall (D) and Rep. Matthew Bierlein (R) have introduced HB 4683, the Fair Standards in Mental Health Care Act to close loopholes and require insurers to cover necessary mental health care.
We are proud of their work and grateful that they are continuing the tradition of bipartisan support for good mental health policy.
Electing champions like these legislators everywhere matters.
A huge thank you to our champions β and thank you for being a part of our movement!
More soon,
Ali Larson
