Our thoughts…a beautifully expressive Tempranillo that delivers far more depth than its approachable style might suggest. Ripe black cherry and plum lead the way, followed by hints of violet, vanilla, and subtle toasted oak that round out the nose. On the palate it’s smooth and generous, with juicy dark fruit, soft tannins, and just enough freshness to keep everything lifted and balanced. There’s a polished, modern feel here, but still plenty of character from its high-altitude vineyards. It’s an easy crowd-pleaser that works just as well on its own as it does alongside grilled meats, tapas, or hearty pasta dishes.
About the Winery…Bodegas Arzuaga is a highly regarded family-owned estate in Spain’s Ribera del Duero region, known for combining tradition with a modern, precision-driven winemaking style. Founded in the 1990s by Florentino Arzuaga, the winery is rooted in the belief that great wine begins in the vineyard, with a strong focus on estate-grown fruit and carefully selected old vines. Their vineyards sit at high elevation near the Duero River, where dramatic temperature swings help produce wines with both power and freshness. While Tempranillo is the star, Arzuaga also works with other varieties and pays close attention to aging in French oak to add structure and elegance. The result is a portfolio of wines that are consistently polished, expressive, and true to the character of Ribera del Duero.
