Paul Goldschmidt has agreed to a one-year, $12.5 million deal with the Yankees, a source told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand. The team has not confirmed the deal, which has no options attached. Goldschmidt represents the latest headline in a flurry of moves for the Bombers.

The D-backs added a potent bat to their lineup, acquiring slugging first baseman Josh Naylor in a trade with the Guardians.

After trading Josh Naylor, the Guardians signed free-agent first baseman Carlos Santana for a one-year, $12 million contract, sources told MLB.com.

With all the moves going on, it’s no wonder that a number of other talented free agents have taken a backseat in the Hot Stove conversation.
