Republicans hold the House majority by three votes. Yet, instead of addressing the pressing issues affecting their constituents, New York Republicans yet again chose to stand with President Trump’s billionaire-first agenda.
Nearly every single House Republican voted in favor of Donald Trump’s disastrous budget, moving it along to the Senate in the dead of night while most Americans were sleeping.
Their proposed budget would rip away health care from 14 million Americans and slash food benefits, child care, public education, and other essential services millions of New Yorkers rely on.
The first few months of Trump’s second term make it clear: the GOP’s values support billionaires and hurt working Americans. And that includes the GOP’s representatives from New York.
They don’t care about lowering costs for working families. They don’t care about protecting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, or so many other vital government programs Americans depend on.
All they care about is falling in line with Trump and helping their special interests.
