For too many pets across the country, food is a question mark. Since millions of Americans face food insecurity, it’s likely their pets face the same challenge.
Americans like Joan who sacrificed her own meals to ensure her four‑legged companion, Snowball, had something to eat. After 10 years together, Joan and Snowball’s bond was almost broken when Joan suffered a debilitating stroke, limiting her mobility and ability to access food for herself, let alone her beloved pet.
Bonds like the ones shared between Joan and Snowball are the reason PetSmart Charities® has teamed up with Meals on Wheels America. Together, we’re helping pet parents access pet food to keep bellies and bowls full. This partnership was born from a widespread need that is often unspoken—for senior citizens in need, it is their pets that make the difference between feeling isolated and having a purpose.
By providing grant funding to help feed pets now, and creating national systems to help feed pets for years to come, we’re taking action for the millions of pets facing hunger in the United States.
With your support, we will help combat pet food insecurity, so more pets stay where they belong – with the people who love them.
