In San Tan Valley, a talented San Tan Foothills student is using his creative media skills to help his school. Rafael Garcia-Pena’s videos don’t merely capture exciting times, but the candid moments that only come from patiently spending time with the subjects. The videos tend to move fast but not too quickly for personal reflections. His football documentaries especially feature people talking the way they might talk to a close friend.
Plus, Coolidge Unified School District schools received “B” and “C” letter grades this year, but leaders say they’re on the “right path” to higher grades. Superintendent Dawn Dee Hodge spoke about the district schools’ letter grades. Even though they showed growth, staff knows they have potential to be much greater, she said.
