As an undercover investigator with Mercy For Animals, I have seen a lot of suffering and sadness. When I finished my recent investigation into a pig factory farm, I left heartbroken but ready to expose what I’d seen behind closed doors.
While undercover, I witnessed many stillbirths and miscarriages, as well as mother pigs suffering from organ prolapses after labor without proper veterinary care.
Simone had given birth shortly before I arrived at the farm. I could tell she was exhausted. She was bloody from rubbing against the metal bars of her narrow crate. I could see the anguish in her eyes, as she longed to have her babies returned to her, to be able to comfort and care for them the way she naturally would.
Unfortunately, life for pigs like Simone won’t change until people’s eyes are opened to their suffering.
Help us continue to expose animal cruelty, inspire kinder food choices, and build a better world—a world where animals like Simone are respected, protected, and free.
Thank you for giving me hope that one day intelligent, loving animals like Simone will be able to feel the warm sunlight, care for their babies, and run with grass beneath their feet.
With hope,
Julia
