From patient to teacher: Holly’s journey comes full circle
Peter,
Holly’s classroom makes you wish you were a fourth grader again — bright, warm and filled with laughter. But behind her joyful presence is a powerful story of strength. At 12 years old, Holly was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a rare bone cancer.
St. Jude welcomed her and her family with compassion. She underwent a year of chemotherapy and two months of radiation — never receiving a single bill for her care, travel or housing from St. Jude.
Today, she’s back in her hometown, teaching in the very school she once attended. Her classroom is more than a place to learn, it’s a space of grace, kindness and healing. Some of her colleagues were once her teachers. Some parents of her students were her classmates. And through it all, she carries St. Jude in her heart. Read more.
Her journey reminds us of what’s possible when healing meets hope — and how your support helps kids like Holly dream big again.
