Lt. Gen. Maude: Honoring his service. Uplifting his family.
| Peter, Lt. Gen. Timothy J. Maude served as the U.S. Army’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel. He devoted his career to supporting soldiers and their families, a calling rooted in compassion, leadership, and deep patriotism. On September 11, 2001, General Maude was at the Pentagon when the attack occurred. He became the highest-ranking officer killed that day. His service ended in an instant. But his legacy lives on, in the Army, in the country he served, and most of all, in the family who still carries his memory forward. This National Military Family Month, we reflect on stories like his to remind us: behind every hero is a family whose strength never fades. Your support helps build the Visitor Education Center (VEC), where stories like Lt. Gen. Maude’s will be shared with generations to come.
