Dear Peter,

Even though there’s less than a week left of 2025, it’s not too late to transform a life like Brian’s.

Brian battled addiction for years. He overdosed several times and almost died. His life was out of control, and he thought he’d never escape.

“In the middle of my addiction, if you told me that someday I was going to live the life I’m living now, I would’ve laughed. But I would’ve been crying on the inside,” he says. “There’s no way I would’ve believed this. Not a chance. I was damaged goods. That’s the way I felt.”

Many other people here in the Valley still feel that way. Brian isn’t one of them.

Today, Brian is almost 8 years sober.
He’s been happily married for 5 years.

In April, he graduated from Grand Canyon University with a degree in theology and a minor in addiction counseling.

Now, he’s part of the Mission’s Street Outreach Team that offers hope and second chances to our homeless neighbors across the Valley!
