Ideas and input from Arizonans fuel my work in the Senate. Traveling across Arizona and listening to the needs, concerns, and priorities of communities is one of the most important and rewarding parts of my job as Arizona’s senior Senator.
Last week, I was honored to host a discussion with a big group of Arizona farmers, ranchers, and agricultural leaders on how we’re strengthening water infrastructure.
I also sat down with East Valley mayors and local leaders to talk about key results we secured for the region in our bipartisan infrastructure law.
And, I joined other Arizonans to tour Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport to see firsthand the upgrades our infrastructure law will make to airport convenience and safety.
Discussion with Valley Leaders
Our discussion with East Valley leaders focused on expanding economic opportunities, and how our historic Infrastructure Investment and Jobs law will further strengthen development in the East Valley. I was thrilled to hear that the investments from our bipartisan infrastructure law will provide the necessary resources to keep creating jobs and fueling growth.
Arizona Farming and Agricultural Infrastructure Roundtable
We were so grateful for another opportunity to hear the needs of Arizona’s farmers and ranchers, and how we can continue partnering to strengthen our agricultural industry and secure our state’s water future.
I’m glad to hear directly about the positive and lasting impact of our bipartisan infrastructure law on Arizona’s agriculture and water future – including over $82 million to strengthen water systems and environmental infrastructure and over $50.5 million in 2022 for critical drought relief measures.
Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Tour
And, we were excited to tour the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport with Mesa Mayor John Giles and East Valley leaders to receive a briefing on the airport’s operations, planned projects, and investments from our historic infrastructure law.
The tour provided us a firsthand look at our bipartisan infrastructure law in action and how Phoenix-Mesa Gateway will make major upgrades with the $22 million investment from our law.
The best part is Phoenix-Mesa Gateway is not alone – thanks to our infrastructure law, every single airport in Arizona will receive much-needed updates.
We’re honored to have led negotiations on this historic legislation that will have such a positive, lasting impact on the lives of so many everyday Arizonans. I look forward to continuing to work on your behalf.
Sincerely,
Kyrsten Sinema
