After a less than 24-hour sell out of 006 we immediately went back to the drawing board. Our goal was to make this bottle available through the holidays. We think it’s one of the best $100 options on the market, but that does no good if it’s sold out. Because of that, we bottled 006.1 as a follow-up. Same mash, same age, same delicious flavor, just a slightly different proof point. Enjoy!
Tasting Notes: This is the first bottle I suggest to open for 30 minutes before pouring. The high proof takes a little longer to settle. The nose is candied ginger and orange marmalade. The palate opens with gingerbread cookies, caramel and stewed apples. It’s rich and sweet. The palate is viscous and drinks much lower than it’s stated 131 proof. On the finish there’s a flash of nutmeg, tangerine and toasted oak. Dried spices linger on this long finish.
