Spring hits differently in Arizona. While folks in other parts of the country are shoveling soggy April snow, we’re reapplying sunscreen and enjoying wildflower hikes. A traditional time for renewal is, in Phoenix, a last gasp of sorts before the summer chases everyone into AC hibernation.
In Phoenix, it’s a season to make the most of the moment. And for Phoenix New Times, it’s when we turn to our readers to help us grow stronger.
Today marks the start of our spring membership campaign — a critical fundraiser that helps sustain the work of my editors, writers, photographers, illustrators, and interns. The support we receive in the coming weeks will shape our budget and fuel the ambitious goals we set for the year.
In short, this campaign helps sustain New Times.
We remain wedded to our mission: Covering Phoenix to the best of our abilities, with the goal of making it and all of Arizona a better place to live. To keep our momentum going, we’ve set a goal to raise $7,500 by April 27.
Your support has already strengthened our newsroom, and we’re grateful to you. Your generosity helps to keep New Times in the fight.
As we look ahead, we’re asking our most dedicated supporters to help us spring forward in the new year. Any additional contribution helps us start this campaign strong and reach more people that rely on our work.
Thank you for believing in New Times. We’re proud to be able to cover Phoenix with tenacity and a dash of swagger. We owe that in large part to you and your support.
With gratitude,
Sam Eifling Editor-in-Chief
New Times thrives because of contributions from supporters like you, and fundraisers like this are essential to keeping us going. We appreciate your patience with a few extra emails during this time. If you’d like to help us reach our goal, making a contribution today means you’ll be removed from the rest of this campaign. Thank you for being part of the New Times community—we couldn’t do this without you.
