When Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022, Tennessee was one of many U.S. states with a “trigger ban” on the books, meaning they had enacted a total abortion ban that would take effect automatically after the Supreme Court issued a decision.
Tennessee’s ban took effect shortly after the ruling, forcing clinics to halt abortion care. Our longtime client CHOICES, a Memphis-based reproductive health center offering everything from birth care to gender-affirming care, had to quickly adapt.
Earlier this week, we shared a powerful letter from Jennifer Pepper, President and CEO of CHOICES, underscoring how bold leadership—backed by strong legal support, free of charge—helps clinics adapt and continue delivering essential care despite constant threats.
