Drawing inspiration from The Metropolitan Museum’s likes of a 16th-Century German suit of armor to the detailing on Marie Antoinette’s parlor chair, Scalamandre’s assortment of designer fabric, wallpaper and accent pillows with fine trim creates an exquisite mosaic of historical narratives.

The intricate German field and tournament armor (ca. 1565) inspired the creation of the Paisley Embroidered Tape, which displays the same floral teardrop pattern.

The Saxony wallcovering and tape are inspired by the delicate patterning on 16th Century combat armor from Saxony.

In 18th-century Europe, Indian dyed cloths called palampores were prized as hand-printed bed coverings and wall hangings.

The Reine Embroidered Tape is inspired by Marie-Antoinette’s 18th-century armchair at Versailles.
