Peter, the fact that innocent animals are euthanized every day is horrible… but there’s something particularly haunting about the standard practice of putting down animals who are paralyzed, sick or new mothers – like Nebel, Suzy and Claire.
It’s never too early to make a gift for animals who need saving, especially when there’s a $150,000 match on the table. So please don’t wait:Double your Giving Day donation today!

Peter, we wanted you to be the first to know about something really exciting happening for Giving Day this year. Now through May 1, all gifts DOUBLE, dollar for dollar, up to $150,000.Together, we can transform the lives of homeless animals and bolster our no-kill mission. And it starts now!
If you want to see just how much your support means, meet some of the animals whose lives have been transformed by our no-kill community:
I gave birth alone, sheltering beside a storefront in Texas. Thankfully the store’s owner found my little family and took us to a shelter – but even then, I was worried we’d be put on a euthanasia list. It was only when we were transferred to Animal League America that my puppies and I were finally safe.
A kind stranger gave me warmth and a place to rest one rainy night, then noticed I had difficulty walking and brought me to Animal League America. I was diagnosed with spinal neuropathy and, even though my hind legs were completely paralyzed within six months, I’m still a spritely treat-obsessed kitty!
Animal League America’s Mobile Rescue Units rescued me after Hurricane Helene. During my initial exam at our no-kill campus, they found mammary tumors, a condition often caused by being unspayed. Before they can begin treatment, they need to know if my tumors are cancerous, which requires two surgeries to remove the tumors and submit them for biopsy.
84 cents of every dollar spent goes directlyto animal program services.
