I gave birth alone, sheltering beside a storefront in Texas. Animal League America’s Mobile Rescue Units rescued me after Hurricane Helene. During my initial exam at our no-kill campus, they found mammary tumors, a condition often caused by being unspayed. Before they can begin treatment, they need to know if my tumors are cancerous, which requires two surgeries to remove the tumors and submit them for biopsy.
