First day of the month. One small ask.
FEB 1READ IN APP

It’s the 1st of February, which means it’s our £1 Donation Day!
These days are crucial for keeping Protect the Wild moving forward. We don’t take corporate funding or rely on large grants; everything we do is powered by small, individual contributions from our amazing supporters. Every single pound genuinely helps keep the fight for British wildlife alive and the wheels turning.
Just last month we:
- Held two demonstrations outside the Scottish Parliament calling for an end to the Guga hunt, resulting in BBC television coverage and favourable reporting in several of Scotland’s largest newspapers.
- Supported Rachel Bigsby’s Scottish Government petition to amend the Wildlife and Countryside Act and end the Guga hunt, helping it become one of the most-signed petitions in the platform’s history.

- Mobilised opposition to plans to designate animal testing sites as “key national infrastructure,” including organising a demonstration outside the Home Office and coordinating a lobbying session inside Parliament.
- Supported Baroness Natalie Bennett in tabling a ‘fatal motion’ to block the Government’s anti-protest legislation, including drafting an internal briefing for peers and securing backing from a wide range of organisations and individuals.
- Provided vital equipment to South Norfolk Hunt Saboteurs and funded multiple mental-health support sessions for animal activists across the country.
- Completed a comprehensive review of undercover footage exposing the British bird shooting industry, with findings scheduled for release this month.
- Released our latest animated film on the Guga hunt, which has now been viewed by more than 3 million people.
- All of this comes alongside more than 17 million views of our content across social media in the past month, and an incredible 13,762 new people joining us here on Substack too!
These fundraising drives show just how powerful our community can be when everyone gives what they can. In 2025 we raised an incredible £25,000 from doing these £1 fundraising days!
Thank you for standing with us. I’m deeply grateful for a community that cares so strongly about British wildlife and is willing to turn that concern into real, lasting action.
