Fines or Freedom?
 Peter,In 2022, we led the charge to eliminate fines and fees charged to kids in the criminal justice system. Our effort led to nearly $40 million in fines and fees being canceled, benefiting over 110,000 people. This year, we are fighting for a stronger, more fair criminal justice system that helps Arizonans get, keep, and succeed at their second chances. That’s why we are working to eliminate fines and fees for adults. These fees keep Arizonans entangled in the criminal justice system even after they have completed their sentences, leading to exorbitant interest fees and never ending debt.
