Missed someone on your Christmas card list? Forgot to send any cards at all? Or maybe you just received an unexpected card and now need to quickly send one back!
Today’s newsletter might just help you choose the right one, because for our last Christmas newsletter this year, we asked some of our team members to tell us their personal favourites. Become a member now, and you could be sending these cards within minutes!
We’ll start off your journey with Laura’s top pick, The Singing Snowmen, which, even after a hundred visits, still gives her “a warm, fuzzy feeling when listening to the snowmen singing at the end”. When recording this, Mike had to ask the Bath Abbey choristers to be less like choristers and to sing more raucously – the problem with hiring such fantastic singers is that sometimes they’re a little too good!
Sally’s favourite card is “a bit of everything – it is heart-warming, nostalgic, humorous and beautiful” – The Carollers takes you on a tour through a village by means of a magical Christmas tree. Tom’s favourite, Under the Tree, recalls the childhood wonder of Christmas: “there’s nothing like the sheer joy of finding a new gift under the tree, and this card brings that to life wonderfully”.
Mike’s pick is The Holly and the Ivy. With Bev’s gorgeous watercolours and Amelia’s exquisite soprano, he considers it “great art and great music: the essence of what an ecard should be”.
And our final pick is from Mike’s son Robin, who works on our copywriting team (you’ve probably read some of his FAQs – and you’re about to read his Behind the Scenes post!). Robin chose Shining Star – featuring violin playing by Robin himself, recorded many years ago when he was a teenager and we couldn’t afford to hire professional musicians! In his new post he tells the story of the evolution of the music in our cards over the last twenty-odd years.
With best wishes for a very Merry Christmas,
The Jacquie Lawson team
