Our private charter will be aboard the historic tavern-lounge car No. 43, once used on the New York Central’s fleet of long-distance trains, on a roundtrip ride between Penn Station’s Moynihan Train Hall in New York City to Amtrak’s Albany-Rensselaer station. You’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Hudson River from big picture windows, a catered buffet-style lunch northbound and a catered buffet dinner southbound, both served on board the train.
There will be some time to enjoy access to Amtrak’s first-class Metropolitan Lounge before departure from the Moynihan Train Hall. During the layover in Albany-Rensselaer, you’ll be treated to an educational presentation by one of the on board docents and take advantage of a great photo opportunity on the lounge car’s red carpet. On the return trip, you can even write a postcard on replica New York Central stationery and have it sent from the train.
Spaces are limited and registration is due no later than August 1 on a first come basis. The rate for current members of the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania is $489.00 per person.
