Chocolate has been associated with the celebration of Easter for over a century. The classic cocoa-based eggs and bunnies were first made in the late 1800s but here in the UK, there’s another sweet delicacy boasting an even longer tradition. Dating all the way back to mediaeval times, Simnel Cake is a tasty fruit cake with a layer of marzipan, topped with eleven balls of the same. Watch as this delicious dessert is confected in our new ecard, and read more about its original traditions, in our new Behind the Scenes post.
As always, we’re releasing two new Easter cards this year, so stay tuned for the second one: a reflective greeting for those to whom Easter is more than just a feast of treats. Why not join our ecards service so you don’t miss out? It’s only $30 / £24 / €28 for an entire year!
But until then, why not have a browse through our vast collection of Easter-themed cards – complete with bunnies, eggs and all sorts of vernal scenery.
Handy Tip! Don’t forget you can send our cards via text message and social media as well as by email! Just click “Share Link” as your send method, and our computer will generate a link to your card, which you can post just about anywhere! Find out more over on our FAQ page.
